Scholarship Intent: The dissertation fellowships provide one year of support for individuals working to complete a dissertation leading to a Doctor of Philosophy or Doctor of Science.
Criteria:
1) Individuals who aspire to a teaching and research career at the college or university level.
2) Superior academic achievement; Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree candidates studying in an eligible research-based discipline at a U.S. educational institution.
3) Must be members of one of the following: Alaska Native, Black/African American, Mexican American/Chicanas/Chicanos, Native American Indians, Native Pacific Islanders, and Puerto Ricans.
4) Must not have earned a doctoral degree at any time, in any field.
